PAST INTERNS:

2008 Communications Intern: Ana Zovko interned during the spring, summer, and fall of 2008.  She assisted with preparations for the Annual Awards Dinner and was also involved in the planning of the Journalist to Journalist program at the 2008 International AIDS conference in Mexico City. 

2007 Intern: Shailee Shah interned with NPF from June through December 2007.  A journalism student at the George Washington University, Shailee worked on website development, the NPF newsletter, and film editing for a promotional piece for the Foundation. 

2006-2007 Communications Intern: Sara Kamin interned with NPF from the fall 2006 to the summer 2007. She assisted with program promotion and logistics, and was involved in preparations for the 2007 NPF Annual Awards Dinner. She graduated from the George Washington University, where she majored in International Business and Marketing. Sara previously spent two semesters interning at BWR Public Relations in New York City, where she specialized in entertainment publicity.


2007 Development Intern: Eli Putterman was the Development Intern for the 2007 spring semester. He assisted in creating written materials, fundraising research and marketing, and tracking and organizing data for the National Press Foundation's Challenge Grant. He was a student at the Yeshiva University High School for Boys.


2006 Summer Intern: Whitney Becker was a student at Northwestern University majoring in print journalism and international studies. Whitney assisted in the planning for NPF's Journalist to Journalist collaboration with the 2006 International AIDS Conference.  She travelled to Toronto with the NPF staff and helped with logistical planning for the training program for 95 international journalists. Previously, Whitney had interned at the Austin American-Statesman newspaper and at The Journal News

2006 Spring Intern: Thomas Jänsch from Stuttgart, Germany interned with NPF from November 2005 until May 2006. Thomas was NPF's first international intern and assisted with communications projects and the annual awards dinner. After graduating from the University of Stuttgart with a double major in History and Anglistics, he worked in public relations at Theatre Rampe and also with several publishing companies in Germany.

2005 Fall Intern: Seth Glick interned with NPF in the fall of 2005. Seth was a student at the George Washington University where he majored in journalism. 
 

2005 Summer Intern: Rachel Grant was selected as the National Press Foundation's first summer intern under our George Beveridge internship program, named in honor of the late Pultizer Prize winner editor of the Washington Star. She was a student at Syracuse University, majoring in communications and broadcast journalism.
